Privacy Policy — Calembour
Last updated: 29 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile game Calembour ("the App", "we", "us") handles information. The App is developed and maintained by Equanimity Labo (an independent game studio), the data controller, reachable at equanimity.labo@gmail.com.
By installing or using Calembour you agree to this policy.
Summary
- Calembour has no accounts and no sign-in. Your game progress is stored on your device.
- We do not ask for your name, email, address, photos, contacts, or location.
- We use a small number of trusted third-party services (Google AdMob, Google Firebase, and RevenueCat) that may collect limited technical and advertising data to show ads, keep the App stable, and process the optional purchase.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information collected
Stored on your device only
Your progress, settings, and whether you've purchased Premium are saved locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
Collected by third-party services
The App integrates the following services, which act as independent data processors/controllers under their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data it may process |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Show ads to players who have not purchased Premium | Advertising ID, device & network info, IP address, ad interactions |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Understand aggregate, anonymous usage to improve the game | App events, device/OS type, approximate region, pseudonymous identifiers |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Diagnose crashes and bugs | Crash logs, device state, diagnostic info |
| Firebase Remote Config | Deliver configuration (e.g., update notices) | A configuration request from your device; no personal data collected |
| RevenueCat + Google Play Billing | Process the optional Premium in-app purchase | Purchase/transaction status, an anonymous app-user identifier |
We do not receive your Google account credentials or payment card details — Google Play handles payment processing directly.
How we use information
- To display advertising (for users who have not purchased Premium).
- To keep the App stable and fix crashes.
- To understand anonymous, aggregate usage and improve gameplay.
- To deliver and restore the Premium in-app purchase.
We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not sell it.
Advertising and your choices
Ads are provided by Google AdMob and may be personalized or non-personalized.
- Reset/limit ad tracking: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads lets you reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization.
- EEA/UK users: where required by law, ad personalization is governed by a consent choice; you can decline personalized ads and still play.
- Premium: the optional in-app purchase removes ads and stops the ads SDK from loading.
Children
Calembour is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will address it.
Data retention & security
Locally stored game data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data processed by the third-party services above is retained per their policies. We rely on these providers' industry-standard security measures; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International transfers
The third-party providers above may process data on servers in the United States and other countries. By using the App you acknowledge this transfer.
Your rights
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California) you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because Calembour keeps no account, most data can be cleared by uninstalling the App or resetting your advertising ID. For requests involving the third-party services, contact us at equanimity.labo@gmail.com and we will help direct your request.
